I wrote “Miss the Mirrors” while taking my first-ever creative writing class at the University of Georgia. In this short nonfiction story, I reflect on my experience growing up in the world of dance and the impact it still has on my body image.
About a year after writing “Miss The Mirrors” for class, I submitted the story for publication considerations through Stillpoint Literary Magazine, UGA’s undergraduate literary publication. The piece was accepted for publication and appeared in the 52nd volume of the print magazine in 2021.
